This is a technique where two shots are taken with some lateral movement of the camera between them. This simulates the two different images your eyes see.
To see the 3D image you need to look at one image with your left eye and the other image with your right eye. There are a few ways to achieve this. 1. Cross eyes method: Cross your eyes and focus on the resulting third center image. See images below. 2. Parallel eyes method: Let your eyes relax and look straight ahead, like you would for Magic eye images, and again focus on the resulting third center image. See images below. 3. Use a stereo screen viewer like the screenscope from Stereoaids in Albany WA which makes it easier to use the parallel eyes method. 4. Another method to achieve a pseudo 3D effect is to use animated gifs, flicking between the two images in a stereo pair. |
