Settings for the Nikon Coolpix 5000 White balance I used to leave the white balance set on AUTO all the time and usually the results were good enough. However occasionally with low contrast subjects the results were inconsistent like the two shots below. These images were taken on AUTO WB only seconds apart with no other changes. So I tested other settings to find a more consistent alternative. What I'm trying to do is find the correct WB setting for the strobes, not ambient light. None of the standard settings gave a neutral colour balance but you can dial in some fine adjustment at each white-balance setting. The closest to neutral colour came from Fluorescent (F2) and Speedlight (+3). home
