Simon for Spybot

16/3/2003 We publish our first user created mission

Alain from France submitted a new mission for the Spybot. It's based on the old sound and light game: Simon. The Spybot plays a sequence of lights which you need to echo back using the RC controller. Each time you're correct you move forward. But make a mistake and back you go.

This new addition has been given it's own home. Follow the link below to go to Missions > Custom Missions. It would be great be able to build a library of user created missions. If you have anything you'd like to share just drop us a line.

MacNQC Pre - Release

10/1/2003 MacNQC 3.0a8 released for beta testing.

MacNQC is a stand-alone version of the Not Quite C (NQC) compiler for the Macintosh OS. Not Quite C is a simple language with a C-like syntax that can be used to program Lego's RCX programmable brick (from the Mindstorms set). MacNQC was originally written by Dave Baum and when he was not able to keep it maintained I took it over. The main window of the program is an editor for the NQC language. Multiple files can be edited at the same time. From the editor you can call the compiler and download the code to the robot. This version is feature complete. Just bug fixes from now on until
final. The final version will be released after Dave Baum releases NQC 2.5.

NQC Beta Release - 2.5 a4

1/1/2003 NQC 2.5 a4 released for beta testing.

NQC (Not Quite C) is a programming language for several LEGO MINDSTORMS products including the RCX, CyberMaster, Scout and Spybotics. NQC's syntax is very similar to the C programming langauge, so experienced C programmers (and Java programmers) should find it very easy to get started with. Even if you aren't an experienced programmer, NQC is relatively easy to learn.

"This release includes a few tweaks for Spybotics support. Spybotics support in NQC is still evolving. My first priority was to make existing NQC features work on Spybotics. That task is for the most part complete as of NQC 2.5 a3."
