what are spybotics?
Spybotics are a terrific robotics
toy created by lego. Lego
has released four basic models. Each has an identical programmable
brick (except for colour variations) varied by the addition of different
lego technic elements. It is
possible to extend or change these designs using your own LEGO
The programmable controller brick has two motors, a touch sensor,
a light sensor and various light emitters. You can interect with
the PC brick using the supplied controller. These bricks also have
the ability to detect and target other spybots
and controllers. Which opens up a whole new area of potential interaction.
The spybotics package includes
a CD-ROM which features 10 missions that you can attempt. There
is also an area called Special Operations
where you can design your own missions.
PROGRAM YOUR OWN MISSIONS
It is also possible to extend the potential of these missions by
creating your own from scratch. You can do this by writing your
own code for your spybot. Your
robot can be programmed using LEGO's
Mindscript programming language or Dave Baum's NQC.
