      Notes.

Albert Sherwood Eastlake served in the First World War, enlisting 30 March 1915, as a Private in the 24th.Regiment, Australian Flying Corps.
On Enlistment he gave his Occupation as a Baker & address as 6 Dorcas Place, South Melbourne.
He embarked from Melbourne on board the P&O SS Morea on 20th.April 1915, returning to Australia, 5 July 1916.

Albert died from injuries received in a serious accident on the afternoon of 29th.October, at Clyde, Sydney.
His injuries included a compound fracture of the left thigh, concussion and abrasions to the head and face.
Albert was one of three men in a Motor Lorry loaded with furniture, which collided with the Carlingford-Clyde Rail Motor at the Hamilton street level crossing at Clyde.
The Rail Motor struck the Lorry with such force, the engine of the Lorry was detached and the petrol tank, tool box, lamps, and drivers seat were flung many yards from the crossing.
The wooden frame of the truck was splintered into small pieces, the three men were flung from their seats, and were found lying in the wreckage about 10 or 12 yards apart from one-another.
The Rail Motor was derailed within a short distance, but was not damaged.
Parramatta District Ambulance treated the men, and took them to Parramatta District Hospital to which they were admitted.
The level crossing was particularly dangerous, as there are no gates and houses block the view of approaching traffic.

Herbert Hawkless, aged 30, of Commercial Rd.Prahran, a Labourer, was granted a divorce, 26 Feb.1937, from his wife Jessie, aged 27, formerly of Simmonds St.Prahran, on the grounds of Desertion.
