      Emma Sarah Budd may have been named after the two mothers of her parents.
      ie: the mother of John Budd and the mother of Hannah Evans.

      Two of the six children of Benjamin and Emma, Hannah and Emma, were baptised on the same day (23 Jun.1844).

      At the time Benjamin CHAPPELL married Emma BUDD (1834), Benjamin gives his occupation as a Spinner and is resident Manchester.
      Emma also gives her residence as Manchester.
      There is little other information recorded as the marriage preceded Civil Registration (1837).

      In the 1841 England Census (taken on night 6 Jun.), Emma Chapel, her husband, Benjamin Chapel and three children are resident at Hallsworth Street, Manchester.
      There is also another infant, William Griffis. Relationship Unknown ?

      In the 1856 letter from John Budd in Manchester to his brother, William Hartley Budd in Australia, John writes:

      Our Sister Emma is Married to Benjamin Chappall a fine Specimen and they are doing very well-and they have six Chidren living and with the assistance of one of them they are selling and carting coals she has Not such very good health but she puts her trust in God she is the Best in the Family here for attending to a place of workship and her Husband is a Teetolaler and they are all in good health at present.

      In the 1861 England Census (taken on night 7 Apr.), I could not find the parents, Emma Chappell and Benjamin Chappell.
      However an Emma Chappel (daughter ?) is Unmarried and is a Boarder at the residence of William Thornley and his wife, at 2 Handal St. Newton, Manchester.
      There are two other Boarders, Ellen Wain (widowed) and her daughter, Louisa.
      Ellen EWART married (1) 21 Mar.1855, Thomas Green WAINE, Manchester Cathedral.
      Ellen WAIN married (2) 6 Jul.1863, James MOSS (a Butcher), Manchester Cathedral.
      (living at Lymm, Cheshire in the 1871 Census).

      Ellen is aged 43 years, gives her fathers name as Thomas WILLIAMS, and his occupation as a Millwright.
      She is resident at 316 Great Ancoats St. and is a Spinster.
      The two Witnesses recorded are Thomas SIMPSON and Ann SIMPSON.

      In the 1861 England Census, Benjamin and Ellen Chappell are resident at 326 Gt.Ancoats St. Manchester.
      There are two children, Anna and Joseph. Has Hannah been recorded as Anna ?

      Benjamin appears to have been one of ten children, all born in Manchester (1792-1816).
      All were baptised at the Manchester Cathedral, except William, who was baptised at St.Thomas, Ardwick.
