      Notes.

It is said that Frank Budd meet Maud Stanley while she worked as a Cook at the Strangeways Hotel at Wallan, which at the time was run by his father, William Hartley Budd Jnr.
The Stanley family were on a Farm at nearby Wandong.
After their Marriage in Melbourne, Frank and Maud appear to have shifted to Pyramid Hill in Northern Victoria to farm for a period.
It was here that their only child, Anne Rose, was born.
Before his Marriage, Frank had attended Melbourne High School and Melbourne University ?
He subsequently joined Sunshine Harvester Works as an Engineer.
Sunshine Harvester was started by the Inventor, Hugh Victor Mckay, who in 1884 built his first Stripper Harvester.
In 1904 he brought the Braybrook Implement Works at Braybrook Junction, West of Melbourne.
He shifted his Operation from Ballarat to Braybrook Junction in 1906.
Braybrook Junction was later renamed Sunshine after the Harvester Company.
In 1930 the Company merged with the Canadian Farm Machinery Company, Massey Harris, which subsequently was taken over by Massey Ferguson.
Frank was fortunate that his work took him and his family to the Americas and Fiji prior to WW2.
Franks Aunt, Mary Hannah Newing (his fathers Sister) lived at Emily Stanleys circa 1934 in Williamstown at 88 Thompson St.
Anne and Peter (Roy) McGain after their Marriage settled in Pascoe Vale until 1972, then retiring to Anglesea on the Victorian Coast, after an Overseas trip.
Investing in a farm at Kyogle in Northern NSWs, it was managed by their youngest son, Eric, until 1978, when Eric had an accident and lost his sight.
Anne and Roy decided to move to Kyogle, taking Annes mother, Maud, with them.
Maud lived to the Grand Age of 100 years and 4 months.
Eric married an American, Toni (a Nuclear Scientist).
Eric and Toni have managed very well on the farm, Eric looking after the Avocado Orchard with the aid of a Guide Dog, while Toni looks after the Cattle.
They also run a Health Food Shop in Kyogle.
Anne and Roy have moved from the farm to live in town.

Maud had the following six siblings:

The origins of the Stanley family have been a puzzle. I had been unable to find the birth of Maud or her six siblings.
Only recently I found the births of Mauds siblings, registed under the surname ALLEN, father unknown and mother as Annie ALLEN.
The eldest son, John, was registered as Jack Stanley ALLEN.
Mauds father, John Stanley died 10 Jul.1888, aged 50 years, Wellington St. Newmarket Melbourne.
His Will and Probate papers reveal:

      1. John was also known as John MURCH or John MIRCH, formerly of North Wakool Station, 40 miles from Deniliquin NSW.
      2. His last Will was made 9 Jul.1888, the day before his death.
      3. Annie Allen his housekeeper, was made Sole Executor.
      4. Annie was appointed Guardian of his children.
      5. John was a Bachelor at the time of his death.
      6. He was renting at his address in Wellington St.
      7. His Estate consisted mainly of the proceeds from the sale of North Wakool Station, held at the Australian Mortgage and Finance Company Limited Melbourne.
      8. John bequeathed his estate to Annie, valved at 14,050 pounds.
      9. Probate was granted to Annie of Warwick Cottage, Dover St. Newmarket, formerly of Wellington St.

Johns correct name was John MURCH. It is unknown why he went under the name STANLEY.

Melbourne General Cemetery records show John Murch buried on 12 Jul.1888, aged 50, located at Church of England, Compartment II Grave 419.
Also located in this grave is his wife, Annie Stanley buried on 25 Sept.1935, aged 85, and his daughter, Mabel Stanley, buried on 17 May 1888, aged 5.
      Annie died at Williamstown.

Annie appears to have purchased the farm at Wandong from her bequest.
John and his brother, George Murch, purchased North Wakool Station in 1873 from J.H.Graves. It was sold in 1886 to James Alfred Cochrane. John received 16,700 pounds from the sale.
