      Notes.

Hubert Walton Budd, one of 10 children and the fourth eldest son of William Hartley Budd and Alice Corry of Strangeways Wallan, married Clarice Rose Andrew, the second daughter of Thomas Andrew and Ellen Mary Morgan of Droylsden Monee Ponds.
(Present Address - Dimora St.James St. Moonee Ponds).
Clarice like her father, Thomas, worked for the Victorian Railways, Clarice in the Office at the North Melbourne Locomotive Yards.
Hubert left the family farm at Wallan and attended Melbourne University and Dookie Agricultural College near Shepparton.
Prior to his marriage, Hubert boarded with a Mrs.Baker at 31 Napier St. Essendon.
Joining the Agricultural Department as an Dairy Inspector, postings included Glenroy, Yarraville, Seymour, Hamilton and Warrnambool (circa 1934).
In their spare time, Hubert and Clarice played in a Dance Band.
Clarice was quite an accomplished Artist (Painter).
While at Seymour a daughter was born (Theresa) but died at 1 month of age.
Clarice died of Cancer at Warrnambool at the beginning of WW11, and shortly after Hubert retired, and the family moved to Melbourne.
Hubert was to die of a heart attack on a train, on the Viaduct between Flinders and Spencer St. Stations, Melbourne.
Many of Huberts brothers appear to have died of a Heart Condition, and it appears their mother (Alice Corry) also suffered from a heart complaint.
Hubert was good friends with Arthur Augustus Calwell, the staunch Australian Labour Party Politician.
It was Arthur who got my father (Victor Leo Budd) a job with the Victorian Railways.
Vic had previously worked at the Nestles factory in Warrnambool.
Dorothy Teresa Budd worked as a Tailoress at Fletcher Jones in Warrnambool.
She sewed the gold braiding on General Douglas MacArthurs (the WW11 American Commander of the Pacific) Uniform, while he sat in a Melbourne Hotel Room, pondering how to beat the Japanese.
Ellen Mary Budd was a Secretary in the Department of Navy in Canberra.
She was appalled at the lack of Security shown by the Americans during WW11.
Marrying late in life to Charles Allgood, who was an accomplished Civil Engineer, of which one of his effices, was the Supervision of the building of the Melbourne Stock Exchange.
The Budds were also friends with the Parer family, Film Makers and Still Photographers.
Damien Parer was a noted Wartime Photographer during WW11, who was killed in 1944 in the Pacific.
