At the time of their Marriage (28 May 1863), Joseph Hartley Budd gives his age as 20 years, and his occupation as a Rope Maker.
He states his father is Henry Hartley Budd and his fathers occupation as a Boiler Maker.
Mary Howarth is aged 20 years, and states her father, John Howarth, is a Dyer.
Both give their place of residence as Davies Street (Salford) Manchester.

I could not find Joseph (Hartley) Budd, his wife, Mary (Hartley) Budd and family ? in the 1861 England Census, or subsequent Censuses ???
A Mary Ann HARTLEY (maiden name HOWARTH) married 1882, a James HOLT, St Marys Church, Prestwich.

In the 1863 Slater Directory of Manchester & Salford, two Howarth families are resident in Davies St.Salford.

1. William Howarth, a Cotton Bleacher, 10 Davies St.
   Aged 47 yrs. b.Prestwich.

2. George Howarth, a Winder on of Cordender Works, 21 Davies St.
   Aged 30 yrs. b.Salford.

However in the 1861 England Census (taken on night 2 Apr.), it appears Marys parents and her two brothers are resident at 23 Hope St. Salford Manchester.
There are also three boarders, husband and wife, and their infant son.
