      Irene, the daughter of Robert Bell & Mary Ellen Hartley, belonged to the Sadlers Wells Ballet Company, and was a Miss England ? in the 1930s.
      She married Syd Harrison, who with his brother Max, were a Variety Comedian Act.
      Both Syd and Maxs sons, Mike and Albie (cousins), formed a Comedy Duo Act in 1956, shortly after both lefted the RAF, known as Hope and Keen.
      Mike married Maureen Kennedy, who was a member of the Vernons Girls, a 16 strong choir, formed in 1958, who all worked for the Vernons Football Pools Company in Liverpool.
      They released an Album of traditional Pop songs.
      The original troupe dwindled to a Trio headed by Maureen in the early 1960s.
      They backed such Artists as Jimmy Hendrix, the Beatles and Cliff Richards, which included performing the haunting backing vocals on the Jimmy Hendrix song, Hey Joe.
      Maureen was involved in a tragic Car Accident in 1970, on the M1, on her way home after a show. She died in Northampton Hospital and is buried in Liverpool.
