The two Witnesses at Rebeccas parents marriage (1809) were John BAXENDALE and Thos.WALKER.
Rebecca emigrated to Australia, departing Liverpool 20 Nov.1838, on the ship, Hero of Malown (Malourn) arriving 1 Apr.1839, Sydney.
In total there were 211 Emigrants on board, with the deaths of 2 Adults and 20 Children on the voyage, whilst there were 10 births at sea and 3 births in port.
All were sponsored by A.B.Smith and Company.
Rebecca was accompanied by her married sister, Mary Ann GILDEA and her brother-in-law, William Gildea.
On arrival the ship was placed in Quarantine due to an outbreak of Measles and Small Pox on board, until 24 Apr.1839.
Her occupation was given as a Dressmaker and her fathers, a Farmer.
Rebecca came to Melbourne via the sea, departing Sydney 4 Jan.1841, on the Jewess, arriving 11 Jan.1841, again accompanied by her sister and brother-in-law.
A notice in the Port Phillip Herald Newspaper on her marriage to William Hartley Budd in 1842, said she was the youngest daughter of George Sutton of Bedford Hall House, Lancashire.
On her death in 1890, an Obituary in the Geelong Advertiser Newspaper stated she came to Australia on the Adam Lodge which departed 29 Mar.1837 Londonderry, Ireland, arriving Sydney, 13 July 1837.
This appears to have been placed by an unknown relative or friend, whose own ancestors may have emigrated on this ship.
Lady Huntingdons Chapel St.Johns, was a Church for Dissenting Protestants.
Robert Suttons, (Rebeccas brother), Remembrance Card was sent to Australia.
In the 1841 England Census (taken on night 6 Jun.), George Sutton is living with his second wife, Jane, at 15 Pleasant St. Salford.
There is also Georges son, Henry from his first marriage, and a daughter, Georgiana, from his second marriage.
Janes mother, Mary Tailor is also present and a daughter, Louisa Bathgate, from Janes first marriage.
Silas and Sarah Hall maybe Boarders, as no relationship is known to either George or Jane.
