      Notes.

Urban Arthur Budd was the youngest son of William Hartley Budd jnr. and Alice Corry.
He was nicknamed Corry after his mothers Maiden Name.
He spent his younger days on his fathers farm at Wallan.
After his Marriage in Melbourne, Arthur went to Wyuna in Northern Victoria where he was employed on the State Farm in the district.
In 1924 he came to the Rushworth District obtaining a position with the State Rivers and Water Supply Commission, pumping water from the Waranga Basin.
In 1934 he was appointed Engineer and Secretary of the Rushworth Waterworks Trust, residing in Rushworth.
Each morning, Arthur rode his bike out to the Pumping Station to fire the Wood fuelled Boiler.
A week after his death the Boiler was converted to Diesel Fuel.
A keen admirer of horses, Arthur was successful in winning the principal race of the inaugural meeting of the Rushworth Trotting Club.
The horse was ridden and trained by his brother-in-law, Leo Stockdale.
A member of the Volunteer Defence Corps, he was highly respectd and esteemed by the local community.
His sudden death came as a great and distressing shock to those who knew him.
It occurred on the night, shortly after his son, Ernest William, was diagonised as having MS (Multiple Sclerosis).
It appears the shock of his sons medical condition, may have facilitated a Heart Attack, as Arthur had recently not been in the best of health.
Williams recent health had necessitated him receiving medical advice in the City.
Earlier William had been sent home from the Army being accused of being a Laggard and drunk.
