Edwin CAUSON died 27 Jul 1904, aged 78 yrs, Pascoe Street Smythesdale, Victoria. [Vic 10493] buried 28 Jul 1904 Smythesdale General Cemetery, Methodist Section [7/218 R/N 2791]
An archivist in Gloucestershire said that Banns had been posted in Cranham for the marriage of Edwin CAUSON to Sarah BARNFIELD but the marriage did not take place and later that year Sarah married Edwin's cousin and Edwin left the country for good.
Edwin CAUSON aged 22, left Plymouth, England on 11 May 1849 on the Eliza and arrived Adelaide 25 Aug 1849. He sailed with two brothers, Charles aged 24 and James aged 20. They were all listed as single, agricultural laborers from Gloucester [Passenger nos 7147, 8, 9, Certificate of Final Departure of the Eliza, 49/16 Frame 4]

In 1852 Edwin and Elizabeth Jane CAUSON travelled to the goldfields of Victoria in company with Elizabeth Jane's family. Edwin became a goldminer and father of 17 children, the 13th was Blanche Margaret CAUSON, great grandmother of Jennifer Burrell.
