Census observations:
The house at 12 Turner Street must have been big house to accommodate the 12 people living there - all those adult children!
William GUY Snr and his maiden sister Elizabeth GUY were both born in Chichester Sussex.
Jane (ms YOUNG) was born in Stepney in MSX and so were all the children listed.
Jane would have been about 23 yrs of age in 1824 when the eldest child named in the Census was born.
We would be looking for the marriage of William GUY Snr to Jane YOUNG in the few years before 1824 most likely in MSX but maybe Chichester. In 1817 Wm would be aged 27, Jane aged 20. In 1823 Wm would be aged 33, Jane aged 26.
There is up to 3 yrs difference in census ages and known births/christenings of children.
At least 3 christenings (William, Emily, Robert) are still to be found, perhaps in Non-Conformist records.
Stepney Non-Conformist Church records searched for the birth of William Water Guy in 1988 without success: Bull Lane Independent 1644-1837, Coverly Fields, Mile End New Town Independent 1782-1831, Latimer Chapel, Bridge Street, Mile End Independent 1825-1837, Queen Street Meeting, Ratcliffe Independent 1698-1837, Sion Chapel, Union Street, Mile End Old Town 1791-1837, Wycliffe Chapel, Philpot Street, Commercial Road Independent 1785-1837.

In the 1851 census William Jnr has no Walter as his second name and perhaps it would be the same on his birth record.
William Walter GUY was the informant for the following certificates:
1857 birth of dau Emily which gave his birthplace as Chichester, Sussex, England
1861 birth of son Alfred which gave his birthplace as Sussex
1880 birth of dau Florence which gave birthplace as Sussex
His wife Isabella GUY ms HOCKEY was the informant for:
1867 birth of son Walter which gave her husband's native place as London, Middlesex, England
Son Walter was the informant for:
1917 death of William Walter which gave his father's birthplace as London, England
So on balance it seemed that William Walter GUY was born in Chichester, Sussex. However a researcher failed to find the birth of a William Walter GUY in any of the Chichester parishes or surrounding ones.

In Stepney there were nine hamlets/parishes. The county was known as Middlesex until 1890 when it became the new County of London. The Stepney parishes became part of the Metropolitan Boroughs in 1900 and in 1965 these boroughs became part of the new London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
East of London Family History Society has maps and history of Tower Hamlets. Most records are held at the London Metropolitan Archives, including the burial registers (1841-1966) for City of London and Tower Hamlets (also known as Bow Cemetery) Search Tower Hamlets BDMs (not complete)
Could look for a marriage of Robert GUY abt 1853 onwards, possibly in one of the many Stepney churches, and for the marriages of the sisters.
Can anyone find them in the 1861, 1871 or 1881 British Census?
