*Grace BAKER remarried in 1844 John RUSSELL (another butcher) after John BAKER Snr died in 1842 when John was aged 8. Grace outlived her second husband and her only son, dying in 1888 aged 93. She never left Croscombe and was living alone, aged 84 in 1881. It is likely that in 1871 John and his family were living at his mother's house.
