TREWICK usually belongs to a family from Northumberland in England. Nine members of this family arrived in Victoria in Dec 1855 on the Chariot of Fame

Possible arrival in Victoria was John TREEWEEK aged 21 yrs (b abt 1833) as an unassisted immigrant on the James Carson which arrived at Melbourne in Jul 1854 [PROV Unassisted Immigration to Victoria Index of Inward Passenger Lists for British and Foreign Ports 1852-1911]

David Duncan sent me the 1856 marriage certificate for John TREWEEK and Elizabeth FLANNING (FANNING) who were Wesleyan Methodists married 'in the tent of Mr Treweek' on the Ballarat goldfields. John aged 23, Birthplace: Greensplat (just south of Fernsplat and both very near Gwennap), Cornwall s/o of John TREWEEK, Miner, and Eliza CORNISH.

There is a gravestone for Joel TREWEEK buried in Gwennap Churchyard who died 30 May 1858 aged 52 yrs. Elizabeth, wife of the above who died 17 Jul 1862 also aged 52 yrs. Joel, son of the above who died ... 1868 aged 29 yrs. Anna Maria, daughter of the above who died ... 1877 aged 35 yrs.

William TREWEEK and Melora had chn: Wm Jnr chr 25 May 1834 St Austell Cornwall, Mary chr 4 Oct 1835 St Austell Cornwall, and Samuel (b abt 1843 Cornwall) d 26 Sep 1927 aged 84 yrs Modbury SA, bur Hay Valley, m 1 Jan 1866 St James Church, Blakiston, SA, Prudence NICHOLLS (b abt 1844 d/o Richard), d 18 Jan 1907 aged 63 yrs Fullarton SA, bur Hay Valley (descendant of Samuel is Basil Gum)
Melora's husband William died on the voyage and she re-married Robert GERRISH (GARISH?) who was supposed to have also been on the Pakenham (although his name is not listed as a passenger). They settled at Gillies Plains and Enfield, then Hay Valley near Nairn SA, then finally to WA.
