A small tribute to a beautiful woman
Lyn Bailey died far too young.
Here are some images of her with Quentin in Geelong nearly twenty years ago.
To me they show the grace, beauty and love that made her Lyn Bailey.

Ralf Waldo Emerson
To laugh often and much;
to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty;
to find the best in others;
to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.
Madame Chiang Kai-Shek
We write our own destiny ... we become what we do
Bhagavad Gita
There was never a time when I did not exist, nor you.
Nor will there be any future in which we shall cease to be.
I Never Was To Africa (Ferron)
If you're ever sitting where the rushes grow
Or you catch a red rose bloom
Or if you're ever standing where a raging river flows
And you feel yourself a lonesome tune
That's right it's me again
Right by your side
And you can yell out through the wind "She's mine"
And 'tho the wind might wail it will not cry
It will say "She always was and so am I"
I never was to Africa 'tho it comes up in my dreams
And we never got our hearts in tune
If time is what it seems
But maybe when you're with someone
who you understand
And you tell them "I love you"
Well maybe I'll be with someone and I'll take their hand
And I'll say "I love you too"
And if I'm ever where the rushes grow
Or I catch a red rose bloom
Or if I'm ever standing where a raging river flows
And I feel myself a lonesome tune
I'll know it's you again right by my side
And I'll yell out through the wind "She's mine"
And while the wind might wail it will not cry
It will say "She always was ... and so am I"
From far ... from eve and morning (A. E. Housman 1859–1936)
From far ... from eve and morning
And yon twelve winded sky
The stuff of life, to knit me, blew hither ... here am I
Now, for a breath, I tarry
Nor yet disperse apart
Take my hand quick .. and tell me
What have you in your heart.
Speak now, and I will answer;
How shall I help you, say;
Ere to the wind’s twelve quarters
I take my endless way.
The Star Spangled Banner
by Francis Scott Key (1780-1843)
O' say can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O' say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
