Horizontal trellis with Tomatoes in the early stage of growth.  The seedlings on the right are Cos lettuces.  By the time the tomato plants were big enough to totally shade the lettuces they were harvested.  This bed was planted out using the cycle mulching technique.  A couple of weeks after this photo was taken it was mulched with straw, having been cured as deep litter in the chicken run.
